Clocking In, Taking a Break, and Clocking Out

A quick overview of all three ways to clock in, take breaks, and clock out in Teamsly — mobile app, personal web time clock, and shared kiosk

There are three ways to clock in and out in Teamsly — the mobile app, the personal web time clock, and the shared web time clock (kiosk). All three support breaks and tip declaration, and every clock event captures a GPS location for accurate timekeeping. This article gives you a quick overview of each method.

Mobile App

The most common method for most employees. Open the Teamsly app, tap Clock In in the top right of the Home screen, allow location access if prompted, select your shift (or choose Unscheduled), and tap Confirm Clock In.

Once clocked in, the Home screen shows your active shift with a timer. To take a break, tap the break option and choose paid or unpaid. To end the break, tap End break. To clock out, tap Clock out in the top right.

See Mobile Time Clock for the full step-by-step walkthrough.

Personal Web Time Clock

For employees clocking in from a computer using their own Teamsly account. Click the clock icon in the top right of the web app and select Personal Time Clock. Select your shift and confirm. To take a break or clock out, click the clock icon again to reopen the time clock.

See Web Time Clock for the full step-by-step walkthrough.

Shared Time Clock (Kiosk)

For teams clocking in from a shared tablet or computer at the workplace. A manager launches the kiosk from the clock icon in the top right by selecting Shared Time Clock. Employees then clock in using their PIN or username and password — no individual login session needed. Re-enter credentials to take a break or clock out.

See Web Time Clock for the full step-by-step walkthrough, including how to end the kiosk session.

💡 Your manager's settings determine which clock-in methods are available to you. If the mobile time clock is disabled, you'll need to use the web. If unscheduled clock-ins are turned off, only your assigned shifts will appear at clock-in.

Taking a Break

All three clock-in methods support breaks. When prompted, choose between a paid or unpaid break depending on your company's policy. Breaks are recorded on your timecard and factored into your total paid hours automatically.

🔔 If your manager has mandatory breaks configured, you'll receive a push notification when you're due back from a break.

Tip Declaration

If your manager has tip declaration enabled for your role, you'll be prompted to enter your cash and credit tips when you clock out. This appears automatically as part of the clock-out flow on the mobile app.
