Correcting Missed Clock-Ins or Clock-Outs

How to find and fix missing clock-in or clock-out entries on employee timecards in Teamsly

When Teamsly has a record of a clock-in but the matching clock-out is missing — or vice versa — you'll see a warning in the Issues column of the Timesheets view. These need to be resolved before the timecard can be included accurately in your payroll export.

Getting There

Click Timesheets in the left navigation. Look for timecard rows with a red warning icon in the Issues column. Hover over the icon to confirm it's a missing clock-out (or clock-in) issue.

Fixing a Missing Clock-Out

  1. Click the timecard row to open the detail panel. You'll see the Clock-In time in green but the Clock-Out showing N/A in red, with a Missing Clock Out — Add link.

  2. Click Edit in the top right of the detail panel.

  3. In the Hrs Worked row, the clock-out time will be blank. Select the correct clock-out time from the dropdown.

  4. Review and adjust any breaks if needed.

  5. Click Save.

Fixing a Missing Clock-In

If an employee has a clock-out but no clock-in, the same process applies — open the timecard, click Edit, and fill in the missing clock-in time in the Hrs Worked start time dropdown.

Creating a Timecard From Scratch

If an employee has no timecard at all for a day they worked, use Add Timecard in the top right of the Timesheets page to create a complete manual entry. See Creating and Editing Time Cards for the full steps.

💡 To prevent missed clock-outs from happening in the future, consider enabling the Clock-Out Reminder and Auto Clock-Out settings in Settings → Enforcements. The reminder sends a push notification after the shift ends, and auto clock-out will handle it automatically if the employee doesn't respond.
