Team Chat lets you send real-time messages to individual employees or groups directly within Teamsly. Both managers and employees can start chats and send messages from web and mobile. Chats are separate from Announcements — chats are two-way conversations, while Announcements are one-way broadcasts from managers to the team.
Getting There
On web: Click the speech bubble icon in the left navigation to open the full Chat page.
On mobile: Tap Chats in the bottom navigation bar.
The Chat Page (Web)
The Chat page has two tabs: Chats and Announcements. The Chats tab shows all your conversations in a list on the left, with participant names, last message preview, and date. Clicking any conversation opens it on the right. Your messages appear in blue on the right; others appear on the left with their name and timestamp. Type in the Type a message... field at the bottom and press Enter to send. You can also attach a photo using the camera icon.
The Chat Screen (Mobile)
On mobile, the Chats screen has two tabs: Messages and Announcements. The Messages tab shows all your conversations with participant names, last message preview, date, and a blue dot for unread messages. Tap any conversation to open it. A + button in the bottom right creates a new chat.
The Floating Chat Widget
On web, click the chat bubble icon in the top right corner of the navigation bar to open a floating Chats panel that overlays whatever page you're on. It has the same Chats and Announcements tabs and shows your full conversation list. Click the X to close it.
💡 The floating chat widget is useful when you're working in the schedule or reviewing reports and need to quickly check or reply to a message without losing your place.
