Exporting Timesheets

How to export employee timesheets as a payroll-ready CSV in Teamsly, including the Payroll Summary and column selector

When your timesheets are reviewed and ready, you can export a payroll-ready CSV with one click. The export includes all timecard data for the selected period and lets you choose exactly which columns to include before downloading.

Getting There

Click Timesheets in the left navigation. Make sure the date range at the top is set to the payroll period you want to export.

Opening the Payroll Summary

Click the Download button in the top right of the Timesheets page. This opens the Payroll Summary — a full preview of every timecard in the selected period before you download.

The Payroll Summary

The Payroll Summary shows each timecard as a row, grouped by employee. For each entry you can see the employee's name, Payroll ID, date, role, wage, regular hours, overtime, scheduled hours, actual hours, and more.

Before downloading, you can:

  • Add or edit Payroll IDs — click the Payroll ID field next to any employee and enter or update their ID. Payroll IDs carry through to the CSV and are useful for matching records in your payroll software.

  • Choose which columns to include — click the column selector in the top right of the Payroll Summary. You can check or uncheck any of the 18 available columns: First Name, Last Name, Payroll ID, Date, Role, Wage, Regular hours, Overtime, Scheduled hours, Actual hours, Actual vs scheduled, Total paid hours, Unpaid breaks, Estimated wages, Cash tips, Credit tips, PTO, and Paid Sick Leave.

💡 Cash Tips and Credit Tips columns only appear if tip tracking is enabled in Settings → Time Tracking. PTO and Paid Sick Leave columns only appear if Time Off policies are set up.

Downloading the CSV

Once you've selected your columns and verified the data, click Download in the top right of the Payroll Summary. The file downloads as a CSV, ready to import into your payroll system.

⚠️ Resolve any timecard issues (missing clock-outs, no-shows, missed breaks) before exporting. Unresolved issues can result in inaccurate hour totals in your export. Check the Issues column in Timesheets before downloading.
