Setting up a kiosk takes just a few minutes. An admin signs in to the Teamsly Time Clock app on the tablet, picks the location, and names the kiosk. From then on the tablet shows a PIN pad your team can use to clock in and out — no one needs to stay signed in.
Before You Start
Tablet — An iPad or Android tablet, ideally mounted or on a stand near your entrance, and plugged into power.
Internet — Connect the tablet to Wi-Fi. The kiosk can't record punches without a connection.
Date and time — Make sure the tablet's date, time, and time zone are set automatically. The kiosk records punches using the tablet's clock, so a wrong time on the tablet means wrong times on timecards.
Permission — You'll need to sign in as the Account Owner, an Admin, or someone whose access level allows "Who can set up and manage time clocks and kiosks?"
Employees — Everyone who'll use this kiosk must be assigned to its location and have a Login PIN. PINs are assigned automatically when employees are added.
Step 1: Download the Teamsly Time Clock App
The kiosk is its own app, separate from the regular Teamsly app your employees use on their phones. On the tablet, download Teamsly Time Clock:
Android tablet: Get it on Google Play
Step 2: Sign In With Your Admin Account
Open the app. The first screen reads "Turn this tablet into a time clock."
Under Admin sign in, enter your Teamsly Email and Password.
Tap Sign in.

🔑 Kiosk setup uses your email and password — phone number sign-in isn't available here. If you normally sign in with your phone number, add an email and password first in the Teamsly mobile app under More → Personal information. Forgot your password? Tap Forgot password?, enter your email, and tap Send reset link.
If you see "Your account does not have permission to set up a kiosk.", ask your Account Owner to sign in instead or to give your access level the kiosk permission.
Step 3: Choose or Create a Kiosk
Next you'll see "Choose where this tablet lives."
Reconnect an existing kiosk — If your company already has kiosks, they're listed under YOUR KIOSKS with their location. Select one to reconnect this tablet to it.
Create a new kiosk — Under OR CREATE A NEW ONE, enter a Kiosk name (for example, Front desk or Back door) and choose the Location. If you only manage one location, it's filled in for you.
Tap Start kiosk. Your admin session ends and the tablet switches to the Clock in or out PIN screen, ready for your team.

🏷️ Kiosk names must be unique within your company. If you see "A kiosk with that name already exists.", pick a different name or select the existing kiosk under YOUR KIOSKS.
Step 4: Lock the Tablet to the Kiosk App
So employees can't leave the kiosk app or use the tablet for anything else, lock it to the Teamsly Time Clock app:
iPad (Guided Access)
Open the iPad's Settings → Accessibility → Guided Access and turn it on.
Tap Passcode Settings and set a Guided Access passcode that only managers know.
Open the Teamsly Time Clock app, triple-click the top (or Home) button, and tap Start.
Android (App Pinning)
Open the tablet's Settings → Security and turn on App pinning (sometimes called Screen pinning or Pin windows).
Turn on Ask for PIN before unpinning.
Open the Teamsly Time Clock app, open the recent apps view, tap the app's icon, and choose Pin.
🔌 Keep the tablet plugged in. The kiosk app keeps the screen on while it's open, so it's always ready for the next employee. If you manage many tablets, your device management (MDM) tool's single-app mode works too.
Using More Than One Tablet
You can set up as many kiosks as you need — for example, one at the front entrance and one in the back. Give each tablet its own kiosk with its own name.
⚠️ Avoid connecting two tablets to the same kiosk. If a manager ends the kiosk session on one of them, every tablet connected to that kiosk is signed out.
After Setup
The tablet stays connected for up to a year. After that — or if a manager ends the kiosk session or deletes the kiosk — it returns to Admin sign in, and an admin can sign in and pick the kiosk again under YOUR KIOSKS.
To move a tablet to a different kiosk or location, a manager can use Manage kiosk on the tablet. See Using the Kiosk as a Manager.
If you change your time clock settings in Teamsly (breaks, early clock-ins, job codes, tips), close and reopen the kiosk app so it picks up the changes.
