Managing Notification Preferences

How to control which Teamsly notifications you receive and how — by email, push, or text — on web and mobile

Teamsly can notify you about shift activity, time clock events, requests, and more — by email, push notification, or text message. You choose exactly which events trigger a notification and how you want to receive each one.

Getting There

Go to Settings (gear icon at the bottom of the left navigation) and click Notifications & Alerts under My Settings. On mobile, go to More → Account Settings → Notifications & Alerts.

📋 These are personal notification preferences — they only affect your own account. Employees manage their own notification settings the same way from their app.

How It Works

Each event in the list has checkboxes for the delivery methods available — Email, Push (in-app push notification), and/or Text (SMS). Check the boxes for the methods you want; uncheck them to stop receiving that notification.

Notification Events

Schedule

  • When a schedule is published — Notified when a new schedule goes live. Available by Email, Push, and Text.

  • When my shift starts — Notified at the start of your shift. Available by Push and Text. An optional advance reminder can be set for 5, 15, 30, or 60 minutes before your shift.

Time Clock

  • Clock in reminder — Reminds you to clock in. Push only.

  • Clock out reminder — Reminds you to clock out. Push only.

  • When I'm due back from break — Notified when your break time is up. Push only.

Requests & Availability

  • Availability change decisions — Notified when a manager approves or denies your availability change request. Email and Push.

  • Shift swaps, requests to work, requests off — (Managers) Notified when employees submit these requests. Email and Push.

  • Updates to my time off requests — Notified when a manager approves or denies your time off request. Email, Push, and Text.

  • Updates to open shifts requests — Notified when a manager acts on your open shift request. Email and Push.

Team Activity (Managers)

  • When an employee does not clock in — Notified when a scheduled employee misses their clock-in. Push and Text.

  • When an employee hits overtime — Notified when an employee reaches their overtime threshold. Push and Text.

Communication & Content

  • Announcements — Notified when a new announcement is posted. Email and Push.

  • Forms & Audits — Notified when a form or audit is assigned to you. Push only.

  • Shift Feedback — Notified when it's time to submit feedback after your shift. Push only.

  • Task Notes — Notified when a note is added to one of your tasks. Email, Push, and Text.

💡 Push notifications require the Teamsly mobile app to be installed with notifications allowed. Text notifications require a phone number on file for your account.
