Quizzes and lessons are built using the same builder. The process is identical — the only difference is whether you select Quiz or Lesson when creating. Quizzes are typically used to test knowledge; lessons are used to teach it. Both support the same question types, settings, and scoring options.
Getting There
Click the graduation cap icon in the left navigation → click Create Quiz or Create Lesson in the top right → select Quiz or Lesson.
To edit an existing quiz or lesson, click the three-dot menu (⋮) on any row and select Edit Quiz or Edit Lesson.
Step 1: Add Details
The first screen is the overview — fill in:
Category — Choose or create a category to organize your library
Title — A clear, descriptive name
Description — A brief summary visible to employees before they start
Passing score out of 100 — Scores at or above show in green; scores below show in red. Set to 0 for no pass/fail threshold.
Allow retakes — When enabled, employees can redo the quiz or lesson as many times as they want after completing it.
Completion Message — Optional message displayed to the employee when they finish
Click Create to move to the questions step.
💡 The passing score and Allow retakes settings work together. If you want employees to keep trying until they pass, enable Allow retakes and set a meaningful passing score.
Step 2: Add Questions and Content
The Questions tab shows all your steps with drag handles to reorder them. Click Create new question to add a new step, or Add existing questions to pull from your shared question bank.
Available Step Types
Scored types — have a correct answer and contribute to the total score:
Single Select — One correct answer from a list. Toggle Show correct/incorrect to show feedback. Toggle Show explanation to add a written explanation after the employee answers.
Multiple Select — One or more correct answers. Same feedback toggles apply.
True/False — Check True or False as the correct answer. Same feedback toggles apply.
Unscored types — collect responses but do not affect the score:
Free Answer — Open text response. Managers can read answers in the results view.
Rating — A star or numeric rating scale.
Content types — deliver content rather than ask questions:
Text — A rich text block for instructions, context, or training content. Supports formatting, images, and links.
Video — Embed a video employees watch as part of the flow.
📋 Only Single Select, Multiple Select, and True/False steps contribute to the score. Free Answer, Rating, Text, and Video steps are always unscored.
Step 3: Preview
Click the Preview Quiz tab to walk through the quiz or lesson exactly as an employee will see it — one step at a time, with a progress bar at the top and Back/Next navigation at the bottom.
