Requesting to Work an Open Shift

When a manager creates an open shift or a colleague releases one, it becomes available for employees to request. You can pick these up directly from the web or mobile app.

On the Web

Open and released shifts appear as a yellow background on days in your schedule calendar. To request one:

  1. Click on a day with a yellow background. An Available Shifts panel will open on the right side of the screen.

  2. You'll see the shift details — date, time, and position. If the shift was released by a colleague, it will show "Released by [Employee Name]."

  3. Click Request Shift to submit your request.

Your request will be sent to your manager for approval. The shift will show as Pending on your calendar until a decision is made.

On Mobile

  1. Tap Schedule in the bottom nav bar.

  2. Tap the Open Shifts tab at the top of the screen.

  3. Tap any shift in the list to open its details. If the shift was released by a colleague, you'll see a note that reads "This shift was released by [Employee Name]."

  4. Tap Request to Work.

  5. Confirm you want to work the shift when prompted.

Your request will be sent to your manager. The shift will appear as Pending on your schedule until approved or denied.

⚠️ Requesting a shift doesn't guarantee you'll get it. There is no guarantee that a manager will approve the request.
