Managing Requests to Work

When an employee requests to work an open shift or a released shift, it appears in your Requests to Work queue for review. You can see how many hours the employee is already scheduled for that week before deciding.

Getting There

Go to Requests in the left nav and click To Work.

Understanding the Request List

The Open Requests tab shows all pending requests. Each row displays the employee's name, the shift date and time, their position, how many hours they're already scheduled that week (Scheduled hrs), and the hours for the shift they're requesting (Shift hours). If the shift was released by another employee, their name will appear in the Released by column.

The scheduled hours and shift hours together let you quickly assess whether approving the request would push the employee into overtime.

Reviewing the Employee's Schedule

Click the employee's name to open a calendar view showing all their currently assigned shifts. This gives you a full picture of their workload before making a decision.

Approving or Denying a Request

Use the Approve or Deny buttons on each row to respond. If you approve, the shift is assigned to that employee. If you deny, the shift remains available for others to request.

Past decisions are logged on the History tab.

⚠️ If approving a request would put the employee into overtime, Teamsly will flag this so you can make an informed decision before approving.
