Copying a Previous Schedule

How to duplicate a previous week's schedule — including all shifts and employee assignments — into a new date range

If you've already built a schedule you're happy with, you don't have to start from scratch every week. The Copy from a Past Week option lets you duplicate a previous schedule — including all shifts and their assigned employees — into a new date range in just a few clicks.

Getting There

Click Schedule in the left navigation, then click Create Schedule.

How to Copy a Previous Schedule

  1. In the Create Schedule panel, select the Departments you want to schedule — choose one department or all of them.

  2. Set the Dates for the new schedule period (the start and end dates of the week you're building).

  3. Scroll past the AI Auto Schedule button and the Add required shifts / Apply schedule templates options.

  4. Under Copy from a past week, click the Select week dropdown. Teamsly shows the last 5 weeks available to copy from.

  5. Select the week you want to copy.

  6. Click Create.

Teamsly creates a new draft schedule with all the shifts from the week you selected, assigned to the same employees. You can then review and adjust any shifts before publishing.

💡 Copy from a Past Week is a separate option from AI Auto Schedule, Add Required Shifts, and Apply Schedule Templates — you can't combine it with those options in the same schedule creation. Once you select a past week, click Create in the Copy section rather than the button in the middle.

✅ After copying, the new schedule is a fully editable draft. Make any adjustments you need — add shifts, remove shifts, swap employees — before publishing it to your team.

  5. Tap Create.
