How to Enable and Configure Geo-Fencing

How to enable and configure geo-fencing to restrict mobile clock-ins to a specific location radius in Teamsly

Geo-fencing prevents off-site clock-ins by restricting mobile time clock access to a specific area around your workplace. When enabled, employees must be physically within the defined radius to clock in or out using the mobile app.

Getting There

Click the gear icon at the bottom of the left navigation to open Settings, then select Time Tracking under the Timesheets group.

Enabling Geo-Fencing

  1. Toggle on Geo-fence enabled. This activates the map and address fields below.

  2. Select your Location from the dropdown — if you have multiple locations, configure each one separately.

  3. Enter the Location Address — the full street address that will serve as the center point of the geo-fence.

  4. Adjust the Fence size slider to set the radius in feet. The shaded circle on the map updates in real time to show the active clock-in zone.

  5. Click Save to apply the geo-fence for that location.

💡 If you have multiple locations, select each one from the dropdown and save a separate geo-fence configuration for each. The fence size and address are saved independently per location.

⚠️ Geo-fencing only applies to mobile app clock-ins. Employees using the web-based Shared Time Clock or Personal Time Clock are not restricted by the geo-fence.
