A geo-fence restricts where employees can clock in for a job. When a geo-fence is set on a job, employees must be within the specified distance of the job address to clock in from their mobile device. This ensures workers are on-site before their time starts.
Setting a Geo-Fence on Web
Open a job from Schedule → Jobs tab and click the pencil icon to edit it. Click the globe icon next to the address field. A map appears showing the job location with a circular fence drawn around it. Use the Fence size slider to adjust the radius in feet, then click Add to save the geo-fence. All workers assigned to this job must be within the fence radius to clock in on mobile.
Setting a Geo-Fence on Mobile
Open any job from Schedule → Jobs tab and tap the globe icon in the top right corner of the Job Details screen. Enter the radius in feet (0–300 ft, default is 150 ft), then tap Add to save.
💡 For jobs in tight urban areas or private driveways, a smaller radius (50–100 ft) keeps clock-ins precise. For large sites or outdoor jobs, a larger radius gives workers more flexibility.
How It Works for Employees
When a geo-fence is set on a job, employees who try to clock in from their mobile device will need to be within the fence radius of the job address. If they are outside the fence, the clock-in will be blocked until they are at the correct location.
📋 Geo-fencing requires the employee to have location permissions enabled for the Teamsly app on their device. Employees clocking in from a tablet or computer at a fixed location are not affected by the job geo-fence.
