How Jobs Appear in the Schedule

How job shifts appear across the Jobs tab, Employee tab, and schedule views in Teamsly

When you add workers to a job, their shifts appear across the regular schedule automatically. Job shifts behave like any other shift — they can be traded, covered, released, and managed the same way — but they stay linked to the job so changes made at the job level flow through to all workers.

The Jobs Tab

The Jobs tab on the schedule shows all jobs in a weekly calendar view. Each job card displays the job name, start and end time, number of workers assigned, and the job color. Jobs with at least one unassigned worker slot are highlighted in orange with an alert icon. Click any job card to open Job Details and view or edit it.

The Employee Tab

Switching to the Employee tab shows all shifts in a standard grid view grouped by role — including shifts that were created from jobs. Job shifts appear here the same as any other shift, colored with the job color and showing the job name. Open job slots appear in the Open Shifts row at the top of each role group, where managers can assign them directly.

How Job Shifts Behave

Because job shifts are real shifts on the schedule, employees can interact with them the same way as any other shift — receive notifications when published, request to trade or cover, release the shift if allowed, and pick up open job shifts.

💡 Job shifts and regular shifts are managed the same way on the Employee tab. The key difference is that changes made to the job (like updating notes or removing a worker) flow through to the shift automatically.
