You can control when audits are due and how employees are reminded to complete them. Due dates are set when you assign an audit, and reminders are configured in the audit's settings template. Together, these keep your team on track without requiring you to follow up manually.
Setting a Due Date When Assigning an Audit
Whenever you assign an audit — whether from the Audits overview page, from a shift, or from the mobile app — you'll see an optional Complete by date and Time field in the assignment modal. Fill these in to give the employee a clear deadline.
Once assigned, the due date appears in the audit detail table under the Complete by date column so you can track it at a glance.
If a due date is set and passes without the employee submitting, managers will receive a notification that the audit is past its due date.
💡 If an audit is tied to a shift, the due date is typically the end of that shift. You can still set a custom due date during assignment if you need more or less time.
Setting Up Automatic Reminders in Audit Settings
For audits that repeat on a schedule, you can configure reminders so employees are notified automatically. Open the audit in the audit builder → click Settings in the top right. Under the Reminders section:
Send reminder on start of shift — Employee receives a notification when their shift starts: "You have an audit to complete before the end of your shift."
Send reminder if user does not complete by [X] hours before end of shift — A follow-up notification is sent if the employee hasn't submitted by the configured number of hours before their shift ends.
You can enable one or both reminders at the same time.
